Fence Bricklayers Working Across the Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast Bricklayers builds block and brick fences right across the Sunshine Coast, from front walls to full boundary runs.

Whether it’s a solid front wall going up where there has never been one, a pierced screen block fence that lets the breeze through, or a segmented run stepping down a fall, the fence is only as straight as the footing under it. Footings get dug and sized for the wall going on top, and where an old fence is in the way it comes out first.

Blocks come from leading Australian manufacturers, and the render and paint afterwards is done in-house.

Block Fence Styles We Build

Solid Block Fences

A continuous wall with no gaps, which is what you want for privacy, for noise off a main road, or for a clean rendered face at the front of the house.

Pierced Block Fences

Patterned block that lets light and air through while still reading as a solid boundary. Suits a hot aspect or a frontage that would feel closed in behind a solid wall.

Segmented Fences

Block piers with panels between them, in block, timber, steel or aluminium. The usual answer on a sloping block, where the fence steps down the fall rather than following it.

Brick Fences and Piers

Face brick front fences and piers where the brick is the finish. No render, no paint, and no maintenance beyond a wash down every few years.

Gates and Returns

Openings set out for the gate actually being fitted, with returns built to carry the weight and the swing without pulling the brickwork out of line.

Render and Paint

Sand and cement render over the finished fence, then painted, so the wall goes from block to a smooth finished face without another trade being booked.

What Changes the Price of a Fence

Fences are priced per job rather than per metre, because the ground under the wall moves the cost more than the blockwork above it does.

What affects the cost of a block fence on the Sunshine Coast:

FactorWhat it changes
Length and heightBlock count, footing size and how many piers the run needs
StyleSolid uses the most block, pierced and segmented use less but take longer to set out

Existing fenceRemoval and disposal, plus taking out any footing that has already failed
FinishFace brick is the finish. Block needs render and paint on top

Frequently Asked Questions

Block fences on the Sunshine Coast are priced per job rather than per metre. Factors affecting the cost include the length and height of the fence, the style, the fall of the block, whether an existing fence has to be removed, and the finish. A level solid run and a segmented fence stepping down a fall are not the same amount of work.

No, fence quotes are free right across the Sunshine Coast. Someone comes out and walks the boundary, then a written quote follows setting out how the fence will be built.

The difference is how much of the fence is closed. Solid is a continuous wall for privacy and noise. Pierced uses patterned block so light and air pass through. Segmented runs piers with panels between them, which suits a sloping block where the fence has to step.

Yes, we render and paint the fence as part of the same job. Sand and cement render goes over the finished blockwork and the paint follows, so you are not booking a separate trade to finish what we built.

The old fence comes out before the new one goes up, and any footing that has failed comes out with it. Building a new fence on a footing that has already moved is how the new one inherits the same problem.

Yes, we can match the brick on your house as closely as the brick is still available. Plenty of front fences get built in a deliberate contrast instead, or in block and rendered to match the render on the house, which is worth talking through on site.

  • Our Process

How Your Fence Gets Built

The following are the steps to our quick and easy process:

Smooth rendered block wall finish on the Sunshine Coast

On-site quote

A licensed bricklayer walks the boundary, checks the fall and the access, and works out what the footing has to carry.

Written quote

The quote comes back in writing with the style, the height and the method set out, so you know what has been priced.

Footings

The line is set out and the footings dug, with the old fence and any failed footing removed first where they are in the way.

Build and finish

The fence is laid and cleaned down, then rendered and painted where that applies.
